That's a nice camera. Wish I could afford it. Would a web-cam from staples suffice & have ok picture quality? How would I link it to an address?

You would need a computer connect to the webcam. And run some sort of video server software on your computer. But the quality of the webcam is quite poor. Not to mention that you cannot pan or zoom.

Yeah it would be nowhere near as good quality as Wes'. I love how you can zoom all around, very cool. Thanks Wes, just another thing I want that I can't afford :)

I've sold the old tank. Just started a new one about a month ago. Need to stock up some coral again after the parameters look better.

I realize it wouldn't be as good as quality & it would pan, zoom, or do all the fancy stuff. But that's what makes it less costly to me if I went with a "cheapo" one compared to this. I like the concept & was just wondering if i could do a lower budget version. lol

Wait, so I have to have one computer for the web-came, then a separate one to go places with? This should be alright...I think.

Yea, you need a computer, maybe just the desktop that you usually use to connect to the webcam.

Thta's what I was thnking. Hmm...can some be connected wirelessly? Like a usb. The same way as keyboards wireless mice? Our desktop computer is across the from from the tank. I am on my laptop.

A cheaper method is to pay someone to take snap shots of the tank every min and send it to you on your laptop :)
