So about 3 hours ago i overflowed my tank and my light ballast got wet. I did what it was suppossed to and blew the fuze. My question is this... How long should it take for my ballast to dry out enough to insert a new fuse and get my lights back up and running? The ballast wasnt dripping wet just got a little water on it but enough to obviously blow the fuze. Thanks all

I'm aware your tank overflowed, but how in the heck did this cause your ballast to get wet? Is it mounted below the tank or something? If so, you need to elevate it a bit and make a drip loop. Hopefully the blown fuse saved your ballast from getting fried!

Without knowing if water is pooled up inside the ballast/wiring, it's hard to give a good answer to 'how long'... but I will say at least 24 hours if you can't tell. I mean, unless you have exposed copper outside of the ballast (you don't I'm sure), this kind of indicates it's wet inside. Can you open it up (unplugged, of course) to air it out?

Just hard to say really... good luck!

If it's not dry, I'm sure the fuse will blow again...maybe...idk
