Hello every one, I just registered and I am new to the forum. How ever I am not new to saltwater ;)

Here is my first question if you guys dont mind helping me out.

I have a 65g drilled tank w/ overflow. I use a wet/dry filter on the bottom and for return I have an external little giant pump.
My problem is that the pump is very noisy and I always have to limit the water return rate (with a valve) because the pump is so powerful that it creates micro bubbles.

What I want to do is disconnect that pump and replace it with submersible Quiet One 3000.
Its 780gph and max overhead of 10.5ft. and only uses 40w.
My distance from the pump to 2 bulk heads would be around 5 ft.

Will this be a good combination as far as gph rating go and my tank size ?

    Thank you.

PS: I just looked up the Little Giant pump that I have it is
    Model: 4-MDQ-SC
    24.3 ft max
    GPH 850

It is also 150w, vs the 40w pump that I want, so I would be saving on electricity as well

Looks the quiet one doesn't fight head pressure as well so you will have a little bit less flow through your wet dry but it should still be plenty.

Tnx man. I went ahead and purchased the 4000 version with same overhead but 1000gph and only 50w power usage. Should bring me closer to 750gph with my overhead pressure.
This way I save 100w vs my inline pump and hopefully kill all the noise.
