    Hi all my wet dry fliter is looking a bit of a mess, its been 9 mon since it went on line ,should I clean it.

    Be more specific...

    What do you mean... a mess? Do you mean detritus and debri settling at the bottom of the filter? I wouldn't take it offline as it can affect the cycle and dirty your tank up. Try adding a powerhead at the bottom to lift the detritus off the bottom. What type of filter is it?

    Do you have high phosphates? I would try to syphon out the detritus especially or try to suspend it in the water for the protein skimmer to remove it!
