There was no attack on you what so ever and i am sorry if that is what you walked away feeling as that was not my intention AT ALL. We're having a conversation/debate and I put forth my points that you disagree with and I disagree with yours. That is hardly an attack on you.

The written word leaves little space for one to figure out what was unwritten. You can not expect me to extrapolate your true meaning when that is not what was written.

Ask G.A. what they have learned from the death of those two and the ones still living.

Personally, I am A-OK with what GA is doing. And what GA is learning. Seems to me there is some implying that GA has learned nothing, I find that silly. Of course they've learned a ton. I don't think they ever learned what killed the 2, but that doesn't mean they didn't learn anything nor does it necessarily mean it was their fault. (not that it wasn't either).

If they kept losing these I'd have a different view if they just kept at it.

But they've lost 2, close together, years ago. They've kept 2 longer in captivity (from my understanding) than anyone else has in history. If they just kept replacing them every year or even every other or any rotation, I'd have a different tune. If they were encouraging others to do the same (maybe they are?), I'd have a different tune.

They've learned quite a bit and this knowledge, I would think, can go a long way in protecting these animals in the wild - should the need arise.

Most of what we know to treat Orcas, otters, etc was learned in Sea World. Sea World (IMO) is a very different beast than GA - so do not take this to be me condoning Sea World, I am not. But there is something very valuable about knowledge and, frankly, you can learn a good deal more with an animal in captivity than you can with one swimming in the ocean. (not that you can't learn anything in the wild, that's obviously not the case either)

Given the details of the GA, I think that knowledge gain trumps the two fish that died for unknown reasons.
