So I started the 1st dose of Acropower, a much smaller than recommended dose. I plan on dosing twice weekly as a test run. Basically it's Amino Acids and I have used Amino Acids in the past.

The Goniopora was fragged like 1.5 months ago. It expands and looks healthy, despite that fact that everyone is sure it will die, being a rent-a-coral and all, but I decided to give a go anyway.

The coral blew up like a soft ball about 2 hours after dosing.

I am not saying it was the Acropower but this coral has never done that, something to think about.

I believe it. Acro power is a good amino/food source. I actually feed my reef about 15 minutes after dosing aminos. I read that quality amino supplements can really get corals to puff up and ready to feed. I believe I read it on a red sea page, it was a year ago. Nevertheless, I still do it. Acro power and reef energy AB has been the only aminos that have actually done that.

    Interesting.

I read a lot of very good reviews and then a few reviews suggesting to use it in moderation, and to watch out for algae development.

Well now that you pointed out feeding after you see a feeding response by the corals, I will give that go once the fish get here this week.

    Thanks for the tip.

Everything in moderation right. Feed to much, you get algae. Eat to much, you get fat. I digress, lol.

Most of my SPS don't really have much polyp extension during the day, should i be feeding them at night when the polyps are out or is during the day better? Sorry if this is a dumb question but I am new to using acropower as well and am hoping to see some results.

For me I always introduce a little food to the tank, wait about thirty minutes and then feed. Gives the corals a chance to open up and show a feeding response.

Feeding I believe is best done when polyps are out. A few hours after lights out is the norm. However, two brands of aminos have prompted a feeding response in my corals for well over a year so I feed my reef after I dose. I don't think it's a miracle but it's convenient because I won't set my alarm to feed my tank. Lol. Be very careful with the aminos because it can get ugly really quick. Dose them to provide nutrition foremost, if it starts a feeding response then act on it but by no means be disappointed if it does not. Hope that helps bostwick

Do you turn your pumps off in that time? I always feel like my SPS aren't benefiting from feedings due to no PE during the day.

I do the same - I also have been doing very well with ROE for my LPS. I use the Acro power - I find a larger weekly dose better than a small daily dose - and to the comment about night time - I usually will dose that at the lowest point of my moon lights before they go off.

I feed 2-3 ml of oyster feast in the AM before lights ON. All my acros have their feeding polyps out then.

I'm following along on this Acropower. A lot of ppl are talking positively about it.

I blame my bacteria bloom on seachem amino, so i am in no rush to use amino.
