I'm with ya! It took me some time before I got a GREAT deal on a kalk reactor. So, that's when I was able to pull that trigger. It's not that I think dosing thru the ATO is bad, it just was too much for me to try and worry about keeping track. I would also agree that thru the ato would be more consistent than manual dosing kalk.

Then, I had to figure out how I wanted to run the kalk reactor...

Then I switched tanks, got a lot more sps and I am back to square one on what my tank is using... I have no idea, but I know my red sea test refills are on prime on amazon. And also that apex fusion added some sweet functionality for storing and graphing your test readings! I'm such a lazy nerd... it took that update for me to test 6x the times I was testing before and even mag get's tested more!

So yeah, Cheryl, you know that you can be adding all your test values into the Fusion website and then graph everything out? I'll update my post and stop hijacking this one.

The problem is that it burns out the pump in the ATO secondary to it's degree of pH and sometimes tubing. I am up to 8.15 after 3 days of slowly, very slowly manually dosing it.

Yeah, kalk is harsh on equipment. I've already replaced an impeller in the mixing pump of my kalk reactor. Another positive to having a reactor, keeping your ATO equipment in tip top condition...

So he is very cool and very spooky. Resides in the Haddoni and rules the world. I guess I really need to check myself, how could I have gone and gotten another fish that bites me every time I even think about putting my hand in the tank? Real smart Cheryl.

Corals and fish doing well, fighting Dino mild case. Struggling to bring up the pH, the usual.

    Thanks for viewing.

Edit: Jedi Mind Trick is an Undata not a Danae.

Looking good. Did you get that clam from divers den? I've noticed crocea clams with rather large chutes on the shells and was wondering if there a type of hybrid with squamosa.

Yeah all my clams are from LA. Crocea extrude a substance that breaks down the rock around them, hence rock boring clams. The scutes do not get worn down when they are maricultured because they have no chance to bore.

I am expecting a Urchin and a Duncan (always loved this coral) tomorrow. The Urchin to help with algae issues before I resort to GFO, and the Duncan because they are great corals and canaries of the fish tank.
