Is it pretty quiet? I have never been happy with the IM Ghost Skimmer.

The MP10QD makes more noise than the Tunze 9001, did you sell your 9002?

Isn't there something wider, rather than deeper in this category? It sounds to me like u need more horizontal room than vertical. You can always lower the intensity of your led's.

Actually I need more vertical because of different sps light requirements. The stand for the 30 is the same stand for the 20 and that saves a lot of money right there. The 45 would require a new stand and more lights, larger skimmer.......

I do really like the looks of the JBJ rimless.

How is the ATI fixture working out?

    I see. That makes sense.

The fixture is working great. I honestly played with the colors quite a bit... just fyi, don't ever turn your red high. You will come back home after work to some serious algae growth!

I do need to shorten my cycle by 2 hrs. May do that tonight. And turn my intensity down too... that pavo na we were trying to ID reached a pmateau and started to bleach a little.. so I know I'm using too much intensity.

LOL, Kevin, otherwise known as Mr.New Tank every 6 months. :p

Yeah, I keep my reds turned down just for that reason. I also get weird string green algae when I leave the blue night LED lights on.

Good I am glad you like it, I am still envious.

Lol, don't b. There is nothing to be envious of over here. I'm sure I'll mess things up eventually like I always do. I had a major scare 1 week ago where my bubble magus started leaking from one of the heads on my ATO, and it shorted it on the ON mode. Thank god for redundancy and the fact that I did not put any calk in the road that time. My sump that took all 5 gallons of freshly filled ro/di water. I designed it so it would take 10 gallons. I was so worried for the low salinity and I had to do a quick wc with 5 gallons of highly salty mix. Very close call. I've been looking at the tuneze osmolator. Don't u have one of those if I remember right? How do u like it? How does it do with calkwasser?

I stopped using the Kalk in the ATO because it occluded that line once and might have contributed burning out one pump.

Overall I really like the Tunze ATO. Like all sensors I am sure, one should really clean it every month to 1.5 month, other wise deposits can prevent the sensor from dropping and the system stays on.

As a safety measure I only put 2.5 gallons in the reservoir so if for some reason the sensor fails it can not over fill the tank.
