Thanks for the review... my problem with the calk is the same as yours.... maybe I'm adding too much... I'll make a weaker mix next time.. but with my ATO on its last leg.. I'm going to have to wait a bit.

I can't see how stirrers would work better as far as calcifying or accumulating buildup on the other equipment in the tank. Vinegar baths every 2 months is what I've been doing.. I said goodbye to my semi "maintenance free" setup 2 months after I started using calk.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Every stirrer I have heard about had issues so I do not even bother. Every am I take one cup of pure kalk solution, no precipitate and add it to my tank. I use kalk solely to maintain pH.
Soon I am going to switch to the dosing pumps, I have everything to set them up I just have to do it.

Dosing pumps are awesome imo. Just like all the rest, they're not maintenance free. I just got the 3 head replacements for my bubble magus. I'll be messing with that soon enough. I just need the time. My dad has not been able to return to work so I'm working for him and it drains all and any free time almost. things will get better soon though. It seems like there is always something going on over here :)

Hope you will be able to see some more free time in the future, life just has a way of pulling us away, but family takes priority.

I have the individual Milwaukee, dosing pumps.

I was commenting on fish here, I don't know if you had skimmers on the mind? :p

how do you like the Milwaukee pumps? I'm partial to the name.

I have to agree, life can pull in so many directions. This week has been very quiet for me, I broke my phone on saturday and just got it back tonight. the withdrawals are over... hahaha
but, up until this week has been just slammed at work and home. But, I have been taking it very easy this week. I still haven't put my hands in the water. But, I did mix up more for a water change. haha
    :)

LOL sorry Zesty, I am so dyslexic I saw skimmer not swimmers, par for the course when you're dyslexic.:p

I have not started the pumps yet, I have had them since March and have not hooked them up yet, in fact I was just looking for them.

I am probably going to add another clown, another pink or maybe orange skunk, a tiny one.

Other than that I am really not sure where I am going in the fish direction. I want yellow, like a Coris Wrasse.

no need for sorry. I was using goofy wording anyways. hehehe

mmmm coris wrasse. I almost pulled the trigger on one earlier this year.

I had to ask about fish. I'm still on a fish kick, corals are starting to creep back up now that I've been taking more pictures. weird.

The new tank arrived from MarineDepot this am, BIG box, millions of peanuts. Arrived intact and beautiful.

Doing the switch tomorrow. I have prepared 15 gallons of salt water, bought another tube of epoxy. I am going to re-enforce the stand with some brackets while there is no tank on it.

Got all my fish paraphernalia ready, large diameter tubing.

I have tried to prepare as best I can, but best laid plans.

In parting, it's amazing how this tank went from a planned anemone with clowns tank to yet another full blown sps tank with clams. Overall I have enjoyed this tank immensely. Thanks all for your encouragement, kind words, and following my thread.
