LITERALLY! so i went to my LFS today to get some more salt and look at a new coral to get. I see a nice piece of xenia reasonably priced so i buy it. Well when the lady was putting it in the bag i noticed some fishing net looking material on it and asked,"Whats the net for?" she said "its what held the coral in place you can remove it once you get home." No problem right? Wrong! One head of the xenia was actually attached to the netting and came right off when I "ripped it off" lol. i desperately tried attaching it to some sort of rock in my tank but i don't want netting in there so i regretfully discarded the head and put the remaining head in my tank. Has this happened to anyone else? has anyone heard of coral attaching to a net and then wrapping it on a rock to sell? im so aggravated. I would return it buttttt no returns on marine livestock at all! hopefully the remaining head thrives. It looks good in my tank!

Yes using netting to get soft corals to attach to rock is very common. Usually it would not be sold with the netting still on. Usually the fragger will wait for the coral to attach then remove the netting to sell the coral.

I hate to do this but I got to ask. How big was the frag and what was a reasonable price?
