To be honest I've never had an issue with any centropyge angels. My reef has lps, sps, softies and clams. No issues whatsoever with my flame angel.

Id be pretty worried with any angel with fleshy LPS. Mostly Acans, lobos, and chalice. Most fish ignore euphyilia and clams are a toss up. Nems are usually ok, but I'm a little worried about my juvenile goldflake. Its hit and miss with Flame angels. Some are fine for years, then decided to demolish a reef. Zoas are fair games as well.

My Flame Angel is the reason I have zero PE on any of my SPS. Strangely enough, it doesn't touch any of my LPS. And I have a lot of fleshy brains...

I hardly think I said size doesn't matter. It's just that's it's one of several relevant factors. It's also the case that there is a difference between a 40 breeder and a 105.

On to the flame angel, my wife's has been doing great with LPS, zoas, and gorge for over 3 years now. The reason he is in her 60 however is he terrorized SPS when I tried him in my tank.

I did misread your post a bit. I saw you statement of "open & healthy tank" as if tank size doesn't matter, so I apologize for the confusion.

And your Flame is just like mine then. Although mine does not cause any damage, its nipping does prevent any PE...

I wish I could set up a poll, flame angel or not. But I believe that would be double- posting which is uncool.

You will get a mixed response I can promise you. Some go years without having any issues until one day it goes rogue. Others always nip a little but don't do any damage. Others just go to town from day one. Most of the people responding saying they have not touched any corals have only had them for a few months to maybe a year ;)

I've had well behaved pygmies and terrors. When I do my tank move on Sat/Sun this week I am putting all my fish currently in two separate tanks into a single one. This includes dropping in a Potters Angel. Yep, I'm taking a risk, but I've also had him since he was a teeny, tiny little guy and he was the only fish in the tank he's in to survive my velvet attack. Since I've had him so long, he grew up on cut food and now takes pellets. I'm hoping the fact that he never developed a taste for corals will keep him from going after my SPS. There are also a couple montis in his current tank that he doesn't bother. Regardless, I can't bring myself to get rid of him so in he goes.

My Potters never touched my SPS in over 18 months. He's always liked prepared foods.

potter's angels have such cool coloring. I'd be keeping him too given that history.
