What all should i test for in my reef tank?

I have come to find this to be true myself,since i switched to ro/do,i watched my phos drop off the chart,i have algea dying off in some areas,yet still popping up in others,i do see it improving,but i know theres still phosphates in the tank that are locked up in my algae,therefore making my phos test kit worthless for the tank.Buuuuuut......It's still good to have for testing newly made water to ensure your ro is working fine and your not adding more phosphates to the tank.
