Yeah, I don't think it's too accurate. I was born and raised in Long Island by a French mother and a Sicilian father. We spoke French at home so I never developed a severe NY accent but it's still there even after living in CT for the better of 14 years. I doubt that living with a southerner for 2 years could change all that so easily :)

And I've spoken to JohnO and if anyone thought that he sounds like a New Yorker, I'd be a monkey's uncle!

Hey I'd say it's pretty accurate. It told me I have a north central accent like people from minnesota and probably get mistaken for a Canadian all the time...lol I am Canadian. But no I don't say eh!

They got me as the "Midlands" which I guess is correct, but my results on their little graph were all over the map. Everybody thinks everyone from Chicago talks like the Superfans from SNL. Not true. But I do not drink soda, I drink pop. Also, I hate to get all Chicago elitist on everyone, but has anyone not from Chicago ever been given the blessing of eating Chicago pizza? I've been to a few other places, and they are really nice places, but what they were billing as "pizza" was just cardbord with tomato paste over it.

Here in California I find myself repeating what I just said because of my midwest accent. At least that is what they tell me. Talking with my mouth full probably doesn't help.

    I got "Inland North"
You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

Sorta true but I couldn't call a "soda" pop. I grew up in Atlanta, GA (no we don't call everything coke, it is what is is be it Dr Pepper, Pepsi, Sprite) But I never really had a southern drawl so I get the "Are you from Chicago?" a lot even though I've only been once, when I was about 7. Oh well. Cute quiz JohnO
