Got our first additions to the tank yesterday evening, a Royal Gramma and an O. Clown. The RG is still in hiding as of this morning. I was thinking he'd come out at feeding. I plan to feed then daily at around 6:00 pm when I get home from work.

Trying to make feeding simple for now, so I'd like to stick to pellets. The FLS sold me some pellet food for them, see attached, about 3-4 pellets each daily.

Is this food any good, as far as pellets go?

Should I turn off the pumps & power heads for feeding?

The clown is active but the RG is still hiding, how can I be sure it's eating?

You cant be sure its eating

and IMO , you will want some frozen Mysis or even brine
unless those fish have been eating pellets in the LFS?

because if they are wild caught fish, they may not recognise pellets as a food
the 1st fish in a tank, weaned on to pellets , will help with subsequent additions, showing the new guys , whats edible

with 1st fish in any tank, I like to have plenty of options to hand, just in case

As far as pellets go, that is my favorite brand. I have been using it for years. I really like that they add very little extra nutrients to the system. They take a little while to dissolve and all get eaten before they go to waste.

If the pellets are too large I just crush them up a little.

One day my fish get frozen that is a big feeding days every 3 to 4 days, everyother day those pellets and when they are begging like no tomorrow some flake.

The LFS was feeding them pellets and they are tank raised. So can I leave the tank flow gowing during feeding? I would think the food would get blown around a lot.

If thats the case Dark Horse, your going to be OK , IMO

Leave the flow on, but feed sparingly
if I am feeding pellets , in a fully stocked tank I might feed 20 or more, but not in 1 go
let a few go, see the fish consume them and let a few more go

Everytime I feed my fishes I leave the fans on. I use rods food with garlic juice to prevent Ich (it happens)
