what are mangroves and do i have the right stuff for one??

I don't have scientific proof of what they have done for my tank but Ill say this much. I have 80 gallons total system, havnt done a water change in almost a year, haven't been running a skimmer until just this week, way overstocked, and have never detected any nitrates.

I've heard they grow too slow so you need a relatively large number to make a significant impact. I personally would do some research before putting effort into growing them unless you like them for aesthetics. I've also heard that their roots need a decent amount of space and can actually rupture tanks if they don't have enough room to grow out. I don't have a good source handy but just be careful, there has to be some good info out there about them.

 

yea im gonna get them after i know more and after i get my 30 lbs minimum live rock (maybe more).
