what are octopus skimmer`s like?

    I only have experience with the Octopus HOB skimmer in my sig.

    It's loud. Very loud. Between the loud motor and the gurgling return...:-/ ugh

    It makes good skimmate though. It has a tendency to overflow for like 2 seconds when you plug it back in (after you unplug it to, say, feed corals or something).

    I'm not a fan.

    But this is the only skimmer I have ever had. So no point of comparison - but my next one will be different...

    I am running 2 tanks and have 2 octopus skimmer. One hob and one in sump. Both of them do a really good job.

    I have a octo nw200 and i love it. I will always buy ocotopus skimmers from now one. THinking about actually buying there new cone skimmer.

    I have the BH-1000, hang on back. Very happy with it, and would buy it again. Mine is pretty quite, much more so than my old bak pak.
