true im kinda going back on what i said before im just trying to make things seem more reasonable. but technically no tang should ever be in a tank under a 75 gallon. that doesnt take into account how large they are or how much they swim but its just a general rule. but i wouldnt ever risk putting any tang in anything much smaller than that if you cant get rid of it when it outgrows the tank or you cant upgrade.

yeah but not for thier whole life time, its kind of like me shoving you into a box for your life, when you grow so much as to out grow the box but you cant get out of the box then you stop growing when you still dcan grow more, therefore bad for you

yes i know what you are saying, im always the first person to speak up when someone has a tang in a 55 gallon tank. i am just saying that for short periods of time such as holding a tang for a friend or quarantining it they can be kept in a tank smaller than 75 gallons. a yellow tang has to be kept in a tleast a 75 gallon tank long term but temporarily easily could be kept in a 30 galon.

I guess it depends on the 55? I have a 55 FW tank that is at least 4ft.

that is the average size of a 55 gallon, the point was that no tang should be kept in a 55 gallon. no less than a 75. only temporarily should a tang ever be kept in anything smaller than a 75 and shorter than 4-5 feet
