    Hey Joe. Here ya go..

PH- 8.2, but 8.0-8.4 is considered acceptable
    Ammonia- 0
    Nitrates and trites 0
    Calcium- 400-500
    Alk - 8 to 12
    Specific gravity - 1.023 to 1.026
    Not sure on magnesium tho
    Temp 78-81 farenheit

    I aim for

    SG - 1.025 - 1.026
Mag - 1380 - 1450 a bit over is OK also (pick a number and maintain that number)
Calcium 380 - 450 (pick a number and maintain that number)
    DKH - 7 - 11 ( pick a number and maintain that number)

there is no important difference between 450 Ca and 10 DKH or 440 Ca and 9 DKH or 420 Ca and 8 DKH
they are all equally good paramaters for a reef tank IME

    stability is key
pick your numbers by seeing what your salt mix naturally arrives at
then aim to maintain those numbers

Steve said it perfectly and in the simplest form.

I like RHF and have read many of his write ups. He is the reef chem guru IMO but for someone starting out his articles can be a bit intimidating.

Excellent link...really so long as you are "in range" there are no magic numbers...keeping things stable rather than chasing a specific number will generally serve you better.

One thing I generally shoot for however, is to be stable in the middle of the range if possible. My reasoning for this is most of the "hobby" test kits we use have a fairly large margin for error. By maintaining params more to the middle of the range you have some buffer in either direction if your test kit is a little bit off.
