I currently have API test kits, but I would like to invest in a better more accurate test kit...I find my results are much much different than my LFS with regards to Calcium and Alk..

What test kit do you use? What do you suggest?

    Thank you in advance! :)

I like Salifert. I am slowly switching from API. From what I have heard though, the NO3 and PO4 are better with Elos. No personal experience there, but the sources are reliable.

Thank you for the quick replies..

Is Sera a good brand for testing, calcium, alk, ph, phos, etc? I appreciate that you can purchase a complete kit minus the magnesium test..

Or are there other complete kits in a box that you recommend?

i use salifert for all of my systems. very straight forward titrations and simple to use. I stick with one brand for consistency purposes. I know there are better ways to test water quality but most of those are real expensive and dont really give any better feedback that really is needed for the home hobbyist. I have found salifert to be solid. i have tried elios and did not like them that much from a color comparison point of view and cost.

I dont think that there is a "best" test kit, thats a personal perference and/or personal exp. I've never seen the kit that you pictured below. I personaly use a mixture of API and Salifert. Luna

Salifert for everything but nitrates. Elos make a better test kit for that, it is very accurate.
