Yes, they will eventually mate and lay eggs. The chance of survival of those eggs in your DT is zero. They become fish and/or coral food.

Raising them is a big task in a series of separate tanks. There are a couple breeders local to me, and each of them as a dedicated setup. The tanks for the fry all painted black since they smash themselves into the glass when frightened, as they cannot see it if it's clear glass.

I disagree with this though. Not all clowns will breed from what I have read and what I have heard from other breeders.

If the female isn't at least 2" and 2 years old, then she isn't mature enough to lay quite yet. They could just be becoming a mated pair as stated before.

My FW angel fish "dance" and "fight" a lot and have laid eggs 4-5 times usually on my HoB filter intake tube. If you want to raise the eggs, ideally you'd want to remove the parents and keep the eggs in the tank they were laid, or at least use water from the tank to fill a 5-10g tank with low/moderate flow. Also once they hatch you will need to feed them like mysis shrimp eggs or something. I haven't taken it past the eggs being laid.

Usually after 2 days or so the angel fish start eating the eggs, even if I fed them regularly

if you just got them and they are doing the wiggle, basically they are doing the dominance/sub routine. the female will shimmy to show the male what she wants. when she goes after him or shows dominance he will respond in a shiver or a shimmy or twitching to her.

a female clown can mature around a year, but most likely that wont lay eggs till they are well over 2 years old or like 2" or so. bigger the better. a male can fertilize at 8 months.
i am a clown breeder and my pairs still do the wiggle from time to time even though they are laying. females require over and over that the male shows his respect. hehe
