I have some featherdusters? and maybe a zoanthid? not sure what they are. Came on some live rock I bought. I would like to id them as I have some algae on the rock that is starting to take over (just that piece) and want to handle before it spreads to the rest of the tank. I was thinking removing all the algae I can by hand and putting this piece in my sump with no light and try to starve out the algae, but worried that it would kill the hitchhikers.
    Thanks

I assume you mean the round brown thing front left in pic. If so that is some type f button polyp.

yes the brown thing was one of the items.. I added a better photo to show the other hitchhikers as well ... the purple things (not the coraline).

any chance they would survive in an unlit section of my sump for a week or two while trying to starve out algae from light ?
    Thanks again everyone

You also have some Clove Polyps, I would start researching them and kill them with fire if you don't want them.

Awesome!!!!! Is that he best way to rid unwanted polyps?? I never would of thought that. I have had button polyps that spread unbelievably fast and have raken all rocks out before to tweeze them off and I always miss some and they come back.

    Thank you
