    The only thing I could find is it looks to be one of the larvae stages of some type of pod. Probably beneficial to your tank but, doomed from the copper. It has probably shocked them into escape or, freak mode.

    I was told by my lfs who I trust that there is a product I can put in to take out the copper (I dont remember the name of it though) Im not too concerned though because I put the inverts into my 90gal, They were not going to be able to stay in my 120 too much longer anyway because I have fish in there that will eat Urchins (triggers, puffers) last time I put in about 75 hermits they were gone in a couple of days all except the few who managed to hide in the rocks =)

    Cuprisorb or Poly Fiters will work, but man....you can never get that stuff totally out I never used it but I think there may have been an old copper pipe used somewhere in my house lines and I've been fighting the invert kills for 2 years now...

    wow that sucks I am yet to loss any inverts (knock on wood) they are all happily placed in my other tank for now and I will be planning on cleaning out my 120 tank by hand from now on no more inverts for it!
