    Hi all,
My tank isnt too old, or newly set up. Its about 6 months old. I do have somewhat of a cyano problem, but this stuff looks different than the cyano looks when I get it on the sand. I have a nutrient problem hence the cyano, issue, my skimmer does not work that well, and I've been out of town, the water changes have been done using RO water.

The red spots are vivid in color, not scaly like a coraline, not slimy like cyano, and very little hairs(in quantity and length, not very much and the ones you can see are tiny)

    60 gallon
    double compact, acticnt(spelling) and 10,000k..(each)
    15 gallon sump
    couple fish
    Reef lobster
    4 hermits
    10 snails(asteas(spelling), nassairus, cerith)

It doesn't siphon like cyano. Scrubbing it off, only works to lighten the color really.

It could be cyano, Im not really schooled in the many forms cyano can come in :(

Yea its cyano but almost in a turf like form. Use a toothbrush with the siphon hose to remove it.
