what are these things?

    i started getting these white oval spots on my rock a week or so ago, and now the numbers are growing.

    Are they some sort of egg sac?

    The pic isn't the best, but i was hoping it may be an obvious ID. I can try to get a better pic if need be.

    I have the same thing in my tank. After much google searching I came to the same conclusion. Nerite snail eggs. Not sure how long incubation takes but i have a few "popped" eggs. Either way they don't seem to harm coral or adversely affect water parameters.

    Corailline is right, they are Nerite snail eggs.

    cool, thanks guys, yes i have 4 nerites in the tank, along with ceriths and dwarf ceriths.

    I checked out some pics and yes that is exactly what I have. I have been seeing very tiny white specs on the glass as well, these must be some of the eggs that have already hatched.

    So am I on the verge of a snail infestation?
