Red Flatworms. They can be eliminated with Flatworm Exit. You must follow the directions exactly. They are toxic and mass die off can poison your tank. Siphon off as much as possible before treating. Then siphon off dieing ones as you treat.

Woah! Flat worms I think, but what for someone else to confirm. Definitely in plague proportion though.

Nevermind I see others have beat me to it.

And just so you know, you can probably not even see 60% of the flatworms that are there.

After you solve the problem, you may want to cut back on feedings and possibly the lighting period.

FW eat both detritus and some are photosynthetic.

And jonjonwells is 100% correct, get as many out as you can before treatment. The toxin they produce when dead can wipe out the whole system.

As far as corals go, they smother the corals in a manner. They prevent corals from opening completely and they block the light to a certain degree.

Wrasses love flatworms. I use wrasses to keep most pest and parasite populations down.

May have to use more than 1 dose, which is not uncommon. Your starfish, snails, crabs.... any inverts are going to take a hit. So when they start to act strange during treatment you will know why.
You will need to do large water changes immedately after treatment.
Follow the directions closely, and I do not remember the cost.

Salifert FW exit has many reports of successful use. I believe it has very good success rate if directions are followed.

It is not the FW exit that hurts the tank per se, but the toxins from the dead flatworms as a result of using FW exit. That is why everyone cautions to "follow the directions". You want as many out as possible before killing them, so that the left over toxins are limited as much as possible... also, running carbon according to the directions is essential.
