My absolute #1 pet peeve is when friends, co-workers, family think ive gone crazy with my tank. The money, time, and dedication to my tank. Complete ignorance on the difficulty and skill that it takes to be successful in keeping a full blown reef.

Some just dont understand and think your crazy when you talk about your tank to others that dont have a tank of any kind. I get excited when I meet someone that has a fish tank. Freshwater or Saltwater. Cause they can relate to the joy this hobby brings.

I have a laundy list of pet peeves but this one I mentioned is top on the list.

also...people replying to a thread without having read through the whole thing....and then saying something that has been said a bazillion times.

AND people asking questions in a thread that have already been answered. Please, it only takes a few minutes to read the original question.

I have to say there are some answers on here that I never really thought about before but after reading thru the list found myself agreeing with.

Being able to spell 3 or 4 scientific names of mantis shrimps and having no idea how to pronounce any of them.

I am guilty of mispronouncing chaeto as well. How are you supposed to learn how to pronounce odd words that aren't in dictionaries if you get all your information by reading it? Thanks for setting me straight though.

I do enjoy it when someone says something wrong, is corrected, and then gives a response similar to "that's what I meant" or something. (this has nothing to do with earlier grammar thing, that one did not end this way).

sometimes it's a legitimate slip-up. nitrites instead of nitrates or something. but sometimes it's ridiculously out in left field.

"magnesium is not important if you dose Ca"

no, Mg is what keeps Ca stable.

    "yeah, that's what I meant"

    no you didn't.

Mine has to water on the front glass, can't stand it. or spilling water everywhere and knowing that if you weren't so impatient it wouldn't be all over the floor.
