I am wanting to mix my salt correctly instead of just mixing and in 24 hours adding it in and was wondering how everyone does it?

    What are the best ways?

I've heard you should aerate it? How do you do this? Just hook some airline tubing to a small pump and put and airstone on it?

i like to put a small pump in it and keep the lid off which usually circulates the water pretty well.

5 gal bucket with a small heater in it to bring it to 78ish. And a wooden dowel for stirring. I add the salt (Red Sea Coral Pro), throw in the heater, 1-2 hours later give it a stir and it's good to go.

i keep a powerhead running in a 5 gallon bucket. when i use the water up, i add more RO/DI and salt mix and plug the PH back in. I keep it covered, but not lidded.

I use a 35g rubbermaid tub with a large powerhead with a venturi to get air into the water, fill it with ro/di water and let it come up to temp and then add the correct amount of salt let it mix for a few days and check it with my refractometer to make sure the salinity matches my tank and then use it as needed. I also keep the lid on loosely so nothing falls in. I always have at least 20 gallons of water on hand for doing water changes and such.

Exact same thing here, except I have a 12-gallon plastic bucket. It lasts me through three weekly changes.

The bucket sits on a low shelf, with a pvc spigot coming out of the bottom of it, to easily fill the smaller bucket I do the changes with.

I use a 30 gallon fish tank to mix and store salt water.

    1.026 @ 77.5 F

    3 x Maxijet 1200's mix+aerate for 3 days before adding to tank.

I use a 5 gallon jug ( like the alhambra ones you putin the water cooler ) the shape makes it nice , no spiling , dont have to worry about somthing unwanted droping in the jug due to the small opening / lid and its super easy to mix i just swirl the jug around and it makes a cyclone ,stop , reverse continue untill mixed i let it sit for a bit then come back give it a swirl for good measure *bam in it goes

though for the big jobs i use a Brute garbage can i stir it up drop in an airstone and let it sit for a day or 2

I only do 4.5 gallon water changes at a time, so I use a 5 gallon bucket and a maxi jet pump. I also have a small heater in there to get the water up to about 78-79 degrees. I keep it covered, bit not sealed. I usually let it mix overnight, but that's overkill...I just procrastinate on changing the water! Before I add it I test salinity and pH.
