    Hi everybody!
I would like to get some experience of yours!
What brand do you prefer? I'm currently running a MAG7, but I think the pumping isn't constant, what pump do you consider that it works better, a MAG7 or a QUIETONE 4000? Another brand in the same level that the last ones? Thank you for your help!

I prefer the Ocean Runners. They are always quiet, low wattage (atleast lowere than mags), durable and the customer support is top notch. I dont think I'll be running anything else.

I personally use a Quiet One 6000 - it was noisy for about a week or two while it was breaking in, and since then it has been a quiet workhorse. I would buy it again. No experience with MAGs though, so I can't compare.

You will get a lot of opinions on this question. I also prefer Ocean Runners myself, I have 4 of them in operation today and no problems. My second choice (and most peoples first choice) would be Eheim. I have tested both using a Kill A Watt meter, 1" flow meter and 10 psi pressure gauge and found the OR to have a slight advantage as far as watts per gallon pumped whhich also equates to a cooler running pump. Very close and head and shoulders above every other pump I tried. I have had two Quiet Ones literally go up in flames so wouldn't even consider one of them. A brand new Rio HF26 had the impeller magnet swell up and break as did a Via Aqua 4900 and every Mag I owned was so loud and so hot I sold all three of them, I don't even use them to mix salt anymore because of the heat gain (I'm in Phoenix and heat is a problem).
I am tempted to try the new Octopus pumps, they appear to come from the same place as the OR pumps at a big savings. Looks like the Hialea pumps Aquatic Eco Systems used to sell.

I would avoid the quiet one 4000. I just had to replace mine...after less then 6 months..the water flow dropped way off, it would not restart after it was turned off for any reason without a lot of user intervention, and it ran hot (increased my water temp by 1.5 degrees). I replaced it with a Mag 1800 earlier this week, and so long it seems to be a lot better.

I have been using Magdrive pumps for a while now and I love them. I have used from Mag-5 to Mag24 and they are workhorses. The only model that I had to return b/c of the noise/vibration, was the Mag24. My current Mag18 is awesome, cant even hear it and boy does it push water. I dont know why they get a bad rep. I dont have/see the issue that some ppl have with heat, I also live in a very hot city/state and I still need a heater from time to time. I dont mean this in a wrong way, but if you need to "micro-manage" all of your equipment just to save a nickel here and there, maybe this hobby isnt for you. If your trying to save some money on electricity, just buy one big pump to do everything that you need. Just my 2 cents.

I use a quiet one 3000 and it does occasionally not restart. It is fairly quiet though and when pumping it has a consistant flow rate.

    !!!

the most of people told me that the MAG pumps are the best, I think these people are right, but I don't know because the flow on the return varies a lot and it has some noise (the pump has 6 weeks working on), I think could be the pump so I want to try another brand like quietone... what do you think? Thank you every body for the comments!!!
