I just bought a Viper with a 14000k bulb with about 2 more months of good use on it. I was looking at bulbs looking for a Phoenix 70 watter, but they don't make them. So my choices are ushio, xm, Aqualine AB, or the JBJ brand.

This will be for a 10 gallon tank so I would also like suggestion on whether I should get a 14000k or 20000k bulb. I plan on using it as a frag tank. I have some Valentines Day Massacres I want to see flourish.

since your fragging you want growth, go for a 10k if you can, 10k is mostly white and stimulates coral growth the most, 14k is a mixture of white and blue for a compromise between coral growth and coral color 20k is mostly blue and is for coral i went thur a similar process when picking my lighting for my tank i went with a 15k bulb for a mixture and im very happy with it, my corals growth at a slow speed but with great color but the choice is up you

see I would want a 14k bulb cause color is super important to me. and with the tank getting 7 watts per gallon I would think it would grow decently. I don't plan to supplement actinics unless theres a way I could modify the viper to hold them.

I haven't set it up yet I turned the viper on it is on the tank already no water in it though mixing it now. and it is hella bright. I turned the lights off in my room pointed it straight up sitting on the floor and the room was illuminated pretty well.

Soon as it is set up I will be getting a bubble gum monster chalice
