I have a 29 biocube, and the one thing I really want is a fish that will burrow, like a jawfish, but I think those are too big, so what would you recommend?

What stocking do you already have? a watchman goby paired up with a snapping shrimp is always cool.

Would the watchman alone be ok? Would he have a shorter life span?

Can't say one way or the other, as there's no real proof. However, I'm pretty sure he'll be fine without the snapping/pistol shrimp. It's just cool to have a symbiotic relationship going on 8)

I definitely would do the pair. Such a cool symbiotic relationship they have. Each can survive on their own, but pairing is best.

If you are worried about your skunk cleaner, don't be. My pistol just snaps if my cleaner gets too close, usually only during feeding time and there are pellets near the shrimp/goby's cave.
