actually yall are both right....it took millions of years for it to develop into the modern day chicken...nothing was over night(obviously) what ever it was before the chicken had to change and evolve to match its habitat...and over time it became the modern day chicken...in a million years itll be something totally different

honestly, I think the process must have been much more gradual, and the egg that hatched the first real chicken came from something that must have shared much of the genetic makeup of it's parents. But the first real chicken came from an egg, which was created by the genetic makeup that could only have been created by two non-chickens. The egg layed by the non-chicken, being that it is the FIRST egg that contains all of the genetic material to hatch the first real chicken, makes it the first REAL chicken egg. ;)

I was just messin with ya,but it is a good question,i would also say soft coral as gabbas idea sounds pretty logical, simple celled animals float around and then trying to hang onto something, eventually being capeable of attaching therefore evolving, but then theres fossils older than the dinos.hard to say

i disagree, every living organism has a baby(larva) stage, juvenile stage, and adult stage...animals are not asexual(meaning animals need a mate to reproduce) therefore to become the modern day chicken it needed to first be conceived(?) then born(hatched) and here we have the EGG first

but its hard to say what was frst..hard coral or soft...but the post earlier about jellyfish makes sense

dinosaurs, which existed before flighted animals, laid eggs.

I don't really understand why that question is viewed the way it is.
