No I don't believe in selling to pawn shops , I keep them before I sell them for pennies

Trust me, I check craigs daily for setups in the orlando area. I got my 125 for $100, my really nice totally purple live rock for 50 cents per pound and an ASM G3 all modded up for 100 just to name a few deals. You can list your tank for whatever you want, it only takes 1 impatient person with a lot of money and good timing and you just might get it.

if your in no rush and want to sell it, start a listing for the rock on a per pound basis, and cut deals for 50# and 100# packs. then unload the fish and sand and get rid of everything else piece by piece after that.

Sorry dude. You just won't sell it then. You put thousands in for the enjoyment, not for the resale value.

I wish I understood why no one likes to buy as a whole and thats for everything. A setup like that around the hampton roads area can fetch around 1000-1500. Truthfully you would have better luck parting it all out but I know how it is to part things out that took so long to build when you just want it to go as a whole to a new reefer. Best of luck with the sale though, beautiful tank!

This is true even for houses. In homes, upgrade what suits you, don't expect 100% ROI, it won't happen. Reef tanks are much less of a commodity than home upgrades.

I don't know if you said how much you paid for the setup as it sounds like you bought it used, but if you get what you paid for it, you will be doing well.

It is a bad time to be selling such frivolous things as a reef tank when folks would rather pay their mortgage for another month or 2.

Good luck though, you might get someone willing to pay 2800, but it might be a while to find that right buyer.

I got my $85,000 MB S420 W140 style for $40k, in superbly mint condition. It was an old man's vacation car, he barely used it, and had it serviced my the dealership. I purchased it, and mothballed it. I Fully restored it, and barely let anyone even look at it. My wife suckered me into trading it for her new Lexus LS460. I was in shock when I was offered $1200 for it!!!!! This is after the dealership offered about bluebook value for it over the phone ($7-8k). Needless to say, I now have a Lexus and a MB.

Moral of the story, don't sell your setup for anything less than what you expect, unless you have to for an emergency.

Well on that note good luck selling it. Packleader or anyone else for that matter on 3reef would point you in the wrong direction.
