    All soft corals.

    Xenia, colt, mushrooms, zoanthids, leathers........

    Most LPS

    Acans, duncans, euphyllias.

Some sps, but you will not get the growth or color. And you have to keep them up high.

    Pocillopora
    Monti......

One medium fish or 2 very small if you keep up on your routine water changes and do not over feed.

I don't really know one coral from the other. can I keep a brain coral? probably be better to tell me which LPS wouldn't work :)

and a clam would definately be out right?

fish would be an O clown and something else. maybe a little goby. and of course the snails and cleaner shrimp or another shrimp. would that work for fish? I would want a nice colorful small tank and the tank is cheap, and easy enough because its small

Are you new to the saltwater world?

I'm not sure if I would put a clown in a 12g. They are pretty active little swimmers. You could have a few shrimp. Most people do not count them when adding up livestock(inches) to see how much room they have, as shrimp don't really swim. I would go with one or two small fish, maybe a goby/shrimp pair.

I like the flaming prawn goby...very interesting fish. These fish are cool, but are a bit expensive.

I have kept a derasa clam in the exact same tank without issues. You have to change out the bulbs yearly if not sooner. You may need to dose some depending on your salt mix, coral growth or abundance of coralline algae and water change schedule. A derasa will out grow it eventually in a year or so but it can be done pretty easily.

Yeap on the sandbed is the best place for derasa.

The tank is too small and will have significant swings until it becomes established. Yes I have kept Maxima but I do not recommend it. I also kept squamosa with no problem.
