I think you might want a bold temperament to even out the clowns' personalities. I have a Springer's Damsel who I think would be good for your tank. They are known to be one of the nicer damsels. And if it is added last I think that would help with the territorial issues damsels can sometimes have.

You could also try a royal gramma. Mine is very active and interesting, and he has enough of an attitude to keep my clown in check, but he's not mean. He never goes after anybody or nips fins.

so i think i might go with the 6line, its not my ideal fish and a little bit more than i was hoping for *according to liveaquarias price* but it's semi aggressive which is good, it's still a wrasse which i love wrasses and will add a splash of color.

hmmm ill have to check out the springer damsel. and yea i think your right about the bold tempermant

and the royal gramma was one of the fish that i LOVED when i first got into the hobby, but then i heard they were terrors, which right now wouldnt be so bad, so long it would leave my firefish alone, and yea whatever fish i would get, it would be the last one added into the tank

EDIT: the springer looks really pretty for a damsel

two or three green chromis, royal gramma, or sixline wrasse. None of them should be over $20 and it may help shift the attention off of your firefish. We hope it helps it's so sad when other fish follow and beat up poor innocent fish.

My royal gramma is a really great tank mate. Of course every fish is different. I've heard horror stories about 6 lines too - so I think it really just depends on the fish. Just make sure you go with a semi-aggressive fish - to put the clowns in place. Otherwise it will just end up traumatized like the firefish.

yea such a hard decision, i fear that if i wait until my lfs opens its new loaction that it might be to long of a wait, its been about an hour now and my firefish is still in hiding, i may just make an order to Liveaquaria on sunday or monday and hopefully have the fish arrive on tuesday since its my day off, so then i guess it just really comes down to whichever one is in stock
yea i do love the royal gramma, think they would be bold enough, even though their known to be peacful also?

Yeah. My guy is very "in your face" to the other fish if they mess with him or his territory, but he doesn't chase and harass. I've never seen him nip fins or fight with anybody. Plus he's really fun to watch because he swims all over the tank all day long. Not like my clown who just hangs out in one spot haha

lol, you could sell your Firefish :p and then use the money to buy all those fish, just an idea. or even up it to get some of the fish you want. Cardinals arent expensive, like 15 bucks at petco

my clowns are all over the tank, and i think that's their biggest problem, is they think the whole 46 gallons is theirs and no one elses. I think i have a toss up between the 6 line and the royal gramma.
