Get a small conch...they are cool to watch and really stir the sand bed nicely...once it grows up u may need to trade it in for a small one again, but they are really awesome to watch...i call mine Snuf (snufolopocus) cuz of the looong trunk they have (mine is pretty big but my tank is 125G)..and the bonus is they wont eat any of the "Creatures" in ur sand bed, just the algae and deterius stuff :)

how old is your tank max? alot need an established substrate to exist healthily. or they could end up starving. and what did you want them to clean up or eat?

i didnt see that one kevin , or i just plain forgot. the memory is shot here. :) if thats the case, the conch is good, a sand sifting star or an urchin would be cool too.

sounds like green cyano to me...nothing will eat it...only way to get rid of it, is to get rid of the source (nitrates)...what are ur params...ur tank may be cycling again...i'd do a water change if nitrites and ammonia are at 0...that will probably kill the cyano (which is a bacteria not an algae)

only problem with the stars is that they will eat EVERYTHING including the littls "bugs" in the sand..i try to stay away from the sand sifters cuz in a 29g it would mow his sandbed back to dead in no time
