    hermit crab sticks?

bacteria handles the clean up crew's waste.

edit: nevermind, joke went over my head haha. never heard of such a thing as crab sticks.

Too funny - - I was just wondering who/what in my tank was putting out those little sticks - I must have more hermits than I thought

detrivores like worms, mini brittle stars, copepods, amphipods are all helpful at reducing "crab sticks" to nitrogenous waste for bacteria. Having a good amount of flow can help whisk it away so that it doesn't rot away in the sand bed.
