What critter should i throw in my fuge

    if you have enough nutrients the small clump will become a big clump. you could even put some caluerpa that would grow faster and its planted

    I guess that you have never seen a saltwater marsh / swamp or a freshwater swamp ? thats what they are for then the detritus aka plant fertilizer will do its job.

    i am not sure on the caluerpa as i heard it can go sexual and release all the nutrients back into the water

    I have had my new fuge running for about 5 weeks now and the baseball clump of chaeto I put in there grew to football size. I was happy and tons of pods all over the glass. Now the chaeto is getting some slimey green algae on it and the sand and glass is getting a good amount of what looks like green hair algae. I think this is ok, right Tangster? This is kind of the whole idea of the fuge. I have no snails or anything in there, unless some made it down through the overflow...

    i have heard that the green algae that is growing on the chaeto can cause die off of the chaeto

    It was getting too big so I cut off about half of the chaeto and cleaned off the algae too. It grows quick onder the 5100k lamps

    it can and it will. I had GHA kill all off almost all my macroalgae.
