I honestly think that you are pretty set on inverts... People get this idea that you need a crazy abundance of snails in a tank, well you really don't. Snails have many issues in tanks, most can't right themselves if they fall on the sand bed. Many that are collected are either from the temperate Carribbean or the temperate Pacific Coast of California, neither will leave long term in a reef temp tank. Sure you ask what is long term, well many snails can live DECADES not just years.

If anything I would maybe add a few DWARF red or blue leg crabs, a couple Indo turbos and thats it.

Are you having some sort of algae issue?
If so CUC isn't always the way to go!

    Good luck!

My algea is all good just have a small amount off green film on the glass which the turbos love & normally comes off with my float mag but i lost it when i moved a month ago! Ive read most people have 20+ snail in there tanks so thought rather then go out & buy a new mag ill just get a few more snails to do the job for me! ....lazy i no
    Thanks K

I would buy the mag float!!
Snails never clean the glass perfectly, its always in some winding trail that they forge....

Save the snails and get the mag float!
    Hows it across the pond?

I've got close to 200 snails in my 55 gallon.

A combo of nerites, FL ceriths, dwarf ceriths, planaxis, limpets, nassarius...

of those, only the limpets can't self right... I only have a couple of limpets, so most of mine can self right...

The vast majority of my snails are the dwarf ceriths.

I still use the mag-float. Snails won't ever get that green powder cleaned off the glass.

Yes or even how are you doing?

Veterinary gloves are inexpensive and you can get models that go all the way up to your shoulders for people with deep tanks.

200 snails dwarf or not sounds like an awful lot of snails in the tank esp a 55.... How do you keep enough algae in the tank for them all to survive?
