    You would be a lot better of losing the scrubbies and what not, and growing chaeto there. That's more of a freshwater thing. It will reduce your nitrates and phosphates.

    barbianj im going to get my test kit back tomarrow and post params. i have 4 t5s over the tank 2 daylight bulbs two blue and 10 led blue lights for night lights i run the blue t5s for ten hours and the white for 8 hrs and then the blue leds for 2 hrs before and after the blue t5s i have to wave maker 1 korillin 1400 gph i think and the other i cant rember but its like a 500 gph idk i have a asm 150 protien skimmer and quite one 1200 gph return pump

    i cant find any macro algae ive asked my lfs like a hundred times and they say they cant get it and every thing i buy off line dies before it gets here but then again i did order things in the middle of summer it get to 120degrees here so thats partyly my fault i had refugium section setup but i coulnd get any corlin algae to grow until i took it out heres a pic of what my sump used to look like

    Lights sound good, but what is the bulb mfg?

    You probably need more flow inside the tank to keep everything moving and no dead spots. Not familiar with your skimmer, but return pump should be good.

    You're off to a good start!

    Any reef clubs in your area? You should be able to get chaeto for free.

    no clubs that are close enough im an hour and a half from palm springs and i only know 2 people in town that have tank only one of them has it up and running and i know more about the hobby than she does but she has bio balls and a protien skimmer and her reefs thriving so thats why i took my fuge out and made the scrubbies . i was thinking that maybe my lfs is treatign there water with copper in there fowler tanks and i got some in my tank when i acclimated new fish and thats how i got it in there

    i used black tahittie moon sand in my tank to keep the black theme wish i would have used the aggronite sand i have instead cause its like dust i have to point both wave maker at the top or middle so i dont create and holes in the sand
