Ive read everywhere about calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium, but I want to know what do i need to buy to make it fairly easy I don't need to have it completely automated takes away some of the fun. I have a 75 gallon aquarium with 4 bulb t5 tek system with 2 actinic and 2 10,000k. Water paramaters are fine low nitrates and phosphates very low bio load at the moment will be more soon but only planning on having four medium size fish any help would be appreciated.

    Welcome to 3reef.

A quality salt mix goes a long way. Reliable test kits are a most as well.

    The above link is excellent.

Until you begin to maintain stony corals, develop a good amount of coralline algae or are keeping a few clams, routine water changes will be enough initially.

I have plenty of coraline which is because i got the rock from a very well established tank about 6 months ago and it continues to grow i use the coralife salt mix which works well for me no complaints. The im going to get the hanna checker for calcium and alk soon

Provided you have good flow in your tank you should be good to go for soft corals or LPS.
