Hi I am planning on purchasing a nano glo refugium light for my 28g nano cube. I am getting it tomorrow and putting it in the back of my tank where my filter is. I am also going to buy some chaeto. Is there anything else that I will need for it?

    Thanks for your time

The Miracle Mud always helps. I know, i thought the same thing, "Why in the world am i buying MUD for $10 freakin bucks?" Really does help though! :)

you can put whatever you want in it. obviously some sand, if you want to add to your CUC and get a food source for dragonets you could add some pods and feed them phyto to keep a good population, maybe even a small shrimp if you want. Then again how many gallons is that fuge?

Its inside of my filter on the back so would I still be able to put mud or sand in there?

You can not put mud or sand in the back sump of the JBJ 28 gal nano.

    Chaeto on top
    Sponge in middle
    Carbon on bottom

Just the way I do it, seems to work fine. The only difficulty is if you do not have a media basket ( I believe one comes with the system ) than you have to remove the chaeto to clean the sponge and replace the carbon.

You can if you want to bulk up, but not needed they come in on chaeto, liverock, frags. When I clean my sponge I have to physically remove pods to keep from killing a lot of them and I have never added any pods, but my tank is three years old.

Do you have a tank thread yet????
