what medicne do i use for marine ich?

 

Remove every fish in the tank to a quarantine tank and treat them with copper for 2-3 weeks while the infected tank sits fishless for a minimum of 6 weeks.

How bad is it, what size is the tank, what type of fish is it and how long has the fish been sick? IME, the best way to treat ich and not mess with everything in the tank is leave the fish in the tank. Now this is coming from many years of persoanl experience but every time ive took a fish out to save it, i stress every fish in the tank and they will some times come down with ich.


I believe ich to fish is like a bad cold to humans, a healthy fish will make it fine and a sick one wont. As long as the fish is eating id leave him be.


Now, others have ahad great success with a QT tank and copper just i havent

 

ok, why cant i dose copper in the main tank? i only have liverock and fish in there!


i dont have ich atm but i want to know what todo if i do get it...?

 

NEVER EVER EVER put copper in the main tank it will sit in the lr and kill any iverts and such, once copper is used on a tank i personnaly would never use that tank or LR again for reef.


Second, if you dont have ich ATM, theres NO reason to post this in the asap section..........

The reason i put this up in the asap is becuase i am receiving a new tang in a few minutes and i have heard they can get ich easy!
