Can they be kept in a sump not real sure I would have room really but maybe I can add a refugium to it

 

Yes a sump works as well, you will need to have a sand bed for Mangroves though.

You will need an appropriate light for both if you keep them in the sump.

 

Do they require a lot of light

 

I used one of the grow bulbs from Homedepot, and mine did fine. Mangroves like intense lighting so if you can swing a cheap MH that works well too.

If you put the sump on a reverse lighting schedule it help stabilize pH as well.

 

Great sounds like it may be easier than I thought.
