I am a staff pharmacist at the Shelton Correctional Facility for Men. Yep....I work in a prison. We currently fill Rx's for our facility as well as seven more surrounding prisons. The pay is terrible compared to the outside (retail sector), but the hours can't be beat and the prisoners are more well mannered than the general public----AND I have very little direct contact with them.

Really, this is my dream job.......

I work from home for Time Warner Cable doing technical support over the phones...and yes..I get several calls a day for "my cable doesn't work". I respond "did you turn it on?" and the correct answer is.... No, they didn't turn on, didn't even look, just called and yelled at me for it. also entering to school for biblical studies.

Agreed. I don't know if I could be a C/O. I am much better behind the scenes. Those C/Os I encounter on a daily basis seem to really dig their job though. In the absence of budget crisis and prison closures, it seems pretty stable. We are going through both now. Lots of people are going to be rifted at other facilities here in the next several months.

It is pretty crazy, I look up their info on our computer system for billing and stuff. Most of them have vacation houses all over the world.
But beleive me, this is a beautiful place and all, but I would NOT want to live here. I couln't imagine even sitting down and eating dinner at the island's restaurants with these snobs...

Nah, you wouldn't want to work here. I screwed up, took the position I was offered, and now I can't leave because there is no work anywhere else lol.
6 degrees does sound a little chilly though, considering I've never even seen snow. I'm used to sweating through most of my winters.

Yea isn't amazing how miserable these people are? I've been wanting to tell them "hey, cheer up, you're a billionaire!".

I agree, Luna. I poor and proud...
But at the same time it must be pretty nice to call your $450K 38' Contender w/ trip F-350's one of your "DINGYS" or "BAITBOATS" lol.

When I first started here I actually witnessed a member purchase a 43' Cabo ($1.5M) for "my kids to play on when they are in town, you know, to keep them off my big boat". Makes me sick...
