i leave mine all by itself for a week at a time nowadays.

What kind of fish do you have? Mine can go a week without being fed (they can find food in the rockwork after all).

As long as you trust your ATO, your heater, and your light timer...

I do have a buddy stop by every 3-4 days just to make sure power didn't go out or something crazy - but his main job is to make sure no ads are being stock piled on my front door step!

My plans for stocking were a Yellow Eye Kole tang(7"), 2 yellow stripe clingfish(2" ea.), 3 anthias(3" ea.), maybe 2 blue/green chromis(3" ea.), maybe a swales swissguard basslet(3"). My skimmer is rated for 125g.

    +1

if the tank is pretty stable and your ATO is reliable, should be good to go a week without feeding. just make sure your skimmer is hooked up to an external drain/collection bin like you mentioned. if that thing overflows into the tank, it's bad...

This doesn't sound so bad now. Thanks for the ideas everyone.

I would also feed a bit extra in the week leading up to the vacation, but they should be ok for a week without being fed.
