I've been reading some thread's today about how, and what to feed your corals. I thought it would be interesting to see what people's thought's were on feeding? Also, how often and what do you feed in your tank?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I only target feed my Duncan and Hydnophora. I use Rod's Food and a quaility pellet pre-soaked in tank water. Feed every three days. I notice the sps really show good polyp extention for the first 24 hours after I feed the LPS oh and the softies open better.

I target feed everything that can eat some brine shrimp soaked in Zoe and Vitachem every three days or so. I also put in Cyclop-Eeze and Coral Frenzy every four days alternating between the two.

depends on the corals most sps and softies dont need feedings but most LPS should get feeding twice a week

I continued broadcast feeding with Cyclopeze , reef bugs, even when my tank became almost SPS exclusive

and I can say I did see evidence of improved polyp extension,, even if they dont actually feed on any of the above.

in softy tanks, I had used Kents Phyto, accel and chromoplex and also Seachems reef plus these where fed sparingly in all cases
and tested Nitrates on a weekly basis to ensure I was not doing any harm
always had GFO in the system anyway and changed it frequently

I am one of those who feeds a lot as well... Other than Nori and fresh macro algae, I feed only frozen food.

Some of the frozen food, I make myself out of a mixture of seafood from a local asian market, which usually includes: shrimp, fish, scallops, octopus, squid, clams, and mussels...

Apart from that I feed SFBB frozen foods such as Marine Cuisine and mysis.

I used to feed Rod's food, but it's hard to find locally and is kind of expensive...

I feed the equivalent of at least one cube per night, and on the weekends, sometimes as much as three cubes per day... I've been overfeeding a bit lately because I want to tame some fish aggression so, I'll feed until they stop eating, lately. I feed with a turkey baster and my clown will sit and wait for the "good parts" to come out and grab them when they do... I'll also blast the SPS corals with the fine particulate food matter that is usually left after the larger meaty stuff is gone and will give a few meaty bits to the LPS... I have to be careful about feeding the LPS because my angel and sixline like to take away their food, so I have to distract them with more food when I do...

I firmly believe that SPS corals' diet consists mostly of fish poop and rely on a well stocked tank and lots of feeding to take care of most of their diet... seems to be working so far.

to add to that, my nitrates and phosphates test zero while I run WM Ecobak pellets and cheato in the fuge for nutrient export.

Frozen daily for the fish, so I guess you could say the fishes waste products, Coral Frenzy weekly and target my Trachy, and Fungias weekly with krill.
