what do you feed your urchins?

Their mouth is pretty much designed to eat calcified algae, like coralline. They'll eat nearly any kind of algae, though.

 

thanks my urchin does hoover up the coraline but i was wondering if there was anybody who supplemented their diet?

 

I don't know if there's too much you could supplement them with.

I would guess, if anything, you can give them nori or pelletized algae, but then they're need to move towards it - not exactly guaranteed to happen.

 

I don't feed them! They receive all the food and nutrients from growth on my live rock and glass. Coralline algae and other forms of algae growth is sufficient.
