What do you guys think this is?

The problem with ripping out rock is it is on some rocks with coral attached I can pull out a few rocks but not every piece that has some of the algae on it and if I didn't get it all I would probably be wasting my time . I have read the same thing about Mag level raising I may do that starting tonight. and just when the tank was coming back after the power loss this summer
