same here. I don't have a local aquarium but some I have visited were nothing to admire. I can see how they would have a hard time keeping corals on such a large scale. I like the tanks here better.;D

Ours need to be kept up better.. Less fish and more compatable fish.. Ours have some that look like they've went through a meat grinder.... and behind the scenes tours.. Plus guides that actually know what the hell they are talking about....

The main reason I am asking is that the Midwest Museum of Natural History is discussing placing an aquarium next to its main building. I have been asked to help look into the feasibility, and what type of displays would be appropriate. This just starting so all of you in my area don’t expect to see a new aquarium for quite a wile even if they can get the money for it. I expect it to far exceed budget for it. We have lots of ideas but just wanted to hear from the reef community also.

Cortland is so close to Chicago that is seems that it would be quite a challenge to compete with Shedd's.

I see that Sycamore is between Rockford and Chicago, I never knew that museum was there. Used to go to Rockford quite often but I took 90 and never knew Sycamore was there. Next time I'm in the area maybe I'll take the kids to the museum. Been to the Chicago museums many many many many times! Let us know what they decide on doing.
