What do you perfer?

Larger grain sand or Smaller grain sand?

And is CaribSea Arag-alive sand a good choice for a brand new tank?
I'm thinking I like (West caribbean reef,Fiji pink and Special reef grade sand). Whats your opinion?

Pretty much sand is sand, you can choose from a wide variety, but crush coral is something that you might want to stay clear from

 

It depends on what you want the sand for and what kind of inhabitants are in the tank. If you want to have a dsb it needs to be very small granules.

 

my 55 had crushed coral/sand mix and my 135 has oolite. I really like the oolite better and I'm pretty sure my engineer goby likes it better too.
